ChaList (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the ChaList mobile application (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address (for authentication)
• Username and display name
• Profile photo (optional)
• Bio (optional)

Usage Data

• Challenges you create and accept
• Photos uploaded as part of challenges
• Streak history and progress
• Coin balance and transaction history

Technical Data

• Device identifiers (for push notifications)
• App usage analytics (crashes, performance)
• IP address (security purposes)

How We Use Your Information

• Provide and maintain the Service
• Match users for challenges (only between mutual friends/followers)
• Send notifications you opt into (reminders, friend activity)
• Process in-app purchases via Apple App Store and RevenueCat
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, cloud functions
• RevenueCat: In-app purchase validation
• Apple: App Store purchase processing
• Friends in the app: Photos shared after mutual challenge completion

Photo Privacy

Photos you upload during challenges are:

• Private until both you and your challenge partner complete the challenge
• Shared with your partner only after mutual completion
• Visible in your friend’s activity feed within 72 hours of completion
• Permanently deleted 72 hours after challenge completion or expiration

Your Rights

You can:

• Access your data through the app
• Export your data (Settings → Privacy → Export My Data)
• Delete your account (Settings → Privacy → Delete Account)

Account deletion is permanent and removes:

• Your user profile
• All challenges you participated in
• All photos you uploaded
• Authentication credentials

Children’s Privacy

ChaList is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us at the email below for immediate deletion.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS, Firebase Security Rules) to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Apple App Store Specific Disclosures

In accordance with Apple App Store guidelines:

• Data linked to your identity: Email, name, photos, user content, identifiers, usage data, diagnostics
• Data not linked to your identity: None
• Tracking: We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites
